Have you ever wondered why you can’t lose weight even if you struggle with eating? Do you sometimes tell yourself that it won’t matter if you do not hit the gym or eat a small piece of something that you are not supposed to eat? If you answered yes, it is time to respond to the voice in your head that tries to convince you, negatively.
Eat slowly and mindfully
Studies show that people eat much less when they eat slowly. There is a 20 minutes lag between when your stomach fills up and when your brain gets the message that it’s full. Take sips of water after every bite. Drinking between mouthful of food does slow down your eating though water doesn’t offer any magical weight-loss. Change your eating environment if you are distracted while eating. Creating a nice ambience by changing the paper napkin to cloth, switching to a colorful plate, placing a flower vase in front of your plate, gazing at the new changes every time, reminds you that you need to eat bite by bite. Also, pay attention to your body by becoming conscious of it every minute and look for signs that you are starting to feel full.
Regular exercise
There is nothing that can stop you from getting exercise unless you are suffering from a chronic disorder.
Motivate yourself to exercise after motivating yourself to diet from the above tips. It is important that you focus on how you feel after exercising, not how you feel when you are in the middle of it. If you currently exercise fewer than two times a week, set your goal to establish a more frequent exercise routine. Every small step in the right direction deserves credit. Reward yourself for following the strict diet and exercising- not with junk food!
