WOMEN'S ARTS NEWS

We Are Seeking Short Biographies of Women Artists and Writers Only.

Women's Arts News is seeking biographical articles about well-known women visual artists or writers from any time period, art movement or style. We define visual arts as fine arts painting: sculpture, etc.; decorative arts; design; photography and architecture. We prefer articles about women writers who’s primary form is creative writing - fiction, poetry, short stories, etc.. The article should be as close to 700 words as possible. (Due to space limits articles above 700 words will not be accepted).

These articles are meant to empower artists, writers and a general audience. By telling about the lives of women artists and writers we believe it will inspire them greatly. Therefore we ask for general facts about the artists life, no anaylisis of the artists work and no opinions. Please make sure your article is as positive and uplifting as possible.

If the article is about a living artist it is up to the author to notify the artist and advise that the article will be published in Women's Arts News. This is for the protection of the author and Women’s Studio Center Inc.

We do not accept articles about or by artists seeking publicity, or articles previously published elsewhere. We recommend that the author register a copyright for the article with the U.S. Copyright Office.

Women's Arts News is a newsletter, published monthly, September through May, at no cost to U.S. Residents. Readership includes artists, art historians, writers and supporters of the arts. Circulation concentrates on the New York City Tri State Area but spans the US and Canada with a few abroad.
